Besian Idrizaj has turned down a move to Oldham, who have also failed in a bid for Ian Moore.

Striker advised against joining Oldham

Liverpool youngster Besian Idrizaj has turned down a move to Oldham Athletic, who have also failed in a bid for Ian Moore. Both Liverpool and Oldham had announced that Austrian striker Idrizaj had moved to Boundary Park on loan until the end of the season. But the 20-year-old has now been persuaded against signing for the Latics, much to the League One club's disappointment. An Oldham statement read: "The loan deal for Liverpool's Besian Idrizaj has collapsed after the player backtracked on the deal at the last possible minute. "The player - who is currently still registered as on loan to Crystal Palace - had agreed to join the club following talks with Latics officials. "However, with all arrangements made, the 20-year-old's agent got involved and persuaded the player not to join the club.

Situation reassessed

"Oldhamathletic.co.uk were initially forced into action after Liverpool's official website erroneously announced the deal had gone through. "Manager John Sheridan and his staff do not wish to employ players who do not wish to play for the club and will therefore reassess the situation." Meanwhile, Oldham have also confirmed that Hartlepool United striker Moore has also pulled out of a deal to join. Moore had arrived at Boundary Park to undergo a medical after a deal was agreed with Hartlepool, but he is now expected to link up with his father Ronnie at Tranmere Rovers.
