Two-and-a-half year deal on table for Falkirk midfielder

Falkirk midfielder Steven Thomson is to join Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee. Thomson has accepted a two-and-a-half year contract with the League One club and is due to undergo a medical on Monday. The deal was agreed over the weekend and Brighton chairman Dick Knight is delighted with the club's impending signing. "We are delighted to sign a player of Steve's quality," Knight told the club's official website. "Falkirk were reluctant to let him go, but we have been working on this deal for some time and are pleased to finally get our man. "He will bring experience and box-to-box endeavour to our midfield." Thomson started his career at Crystal Palace and also played for Peterborough United before joining Falkirk in 2005.
