Striker pens two-and-a-half year contract
Southend United have completed the signing of James Walker from Charlton Athletic.
The striker joins the League One club in a £200,000 deal and has penned a two-and-a-half year contract.
Walker had been on loan at Yeovil from Charlton since last October, but arrives at Roots Hall on a permanent deal, excited about the challenges that lie ahead of him.
"I am at the age now where I need to play games," he told the club's official website.
Excited
"I live in Leyton so it's nice and close and I am really excited about the move.
"My aim now is just to score loads of goals and try my best to get Southend back into the promotion race.
"I've played a lot of reserve football but when there is three points at stake things are different.
"League One is all about hard work and I am prepared to do that."
