Crewe have made Eugen Bopp available for a free transfer, just a few months after signing the midfielder.

Crewe Alexandra have made Eugen Bopp available for a free transfer, just a few months after signing the midfielder.

Bopp was a free transfer arrival from Rotherham United last summer, but has made just eight appearances for Crewe.

He has not featured since early November having been hampered by niggling injuries, and has now been put on the transfer list.

"At this stage I am not aware of any interest, but he would be available on a free transfer, having joined us on a free transfer in the summer," Crewe head coach Steve Holland told the club's official website.

"He is a terrific lad. His attitude and application has been very good to training. He is a professional player, but it has not quite worked out for him.

"He had some chances in the team at the start of the season and didn't do enough to convince me that he was worth a place ahead of the others."

Meanwhile, Holland has made an offer to sign a Premier League left-back on loan as he looks to add to his squad.
