Bas Savage looks set to depart Brighton after he turned down the club's latest contract offer.

The popular striker is out of contract at the Withdean Stadium in the New Year and threw his shirt into the crowd after Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Millwall.

"It looks like he has refused our offer so he'll be moving on," said manager Dean Wilkins.

"It's going to be a blow but we have to make sure we move on and that whoever comes in does an equal, if not better, job.

"It's disappointing but he's been made a good offer and I believe his agent feels he should be our player still. But the decision has been made and now we have to move on."

On-loan midfielders David Martot and George O'Callaghan also look poised to leave the club.

Wilkins added: "Things are a little bit up in the air but hopefully they will be resolved over the next seven days."
