Rochdale have extended the loan spell of Oldham youngster Marcus Holness.
The 19-year-old defender arrived on an initial emergency loan at the start of October but after featuring eight times he will now spend an extra month at Spotland.
"With respect to recruiting him originally I think at the time we were the only team willing to have a look at him," manager Keith Hill told the club's official website.
"Then what you see is as we take the risk and then develop these players other clubs then start to show an interest. It is about time that a few of the other clubs started to get their kahounas out onto the table and take a few risks or a good decision with these kids.
"Marcus deserves all the credit he has got for his performances. I now have a great headache with respect to having Nathan Stanton, Rory McArdle, Nathan D'Laryea, Marcus and Lee Crooks to select from.
"It is superb and you have to earn the shirt at this club. If you don't want to earn it then you don't play."
