Owls boss keen for midfielder to return

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws is hoping to get the board's backing in his bid to sign Graham Kavanagh on a permanent basis. The Sunderland midfielder impressed at Hillsborough during a recent loan spell and Roy Keane has hinted that he will allow him to go out again to play more regularly. It is unclear whether Keane would be willing to let Kavanagh leave on anything but another loan deal, but Laws is eager to snap him up. Laws also accepts that there will be competition for Kavanagh's signature, but is looking to move quickly if he gets the go-ahead. "Roy's going to let him go and Graham's currently talking to a couple of clubs as we speak." "It's looking more and more unlikely that he'll be coming to us because of the wages - that might be a problem. "But we're still looking to bring him back and looking at having a meeting with the chairman. "I hope to have an answer by Wednesday."
