David Murphy scored the winner on 61 minutes to see Hibs make it nine games unbeaten so far in the league with the home side suffering a hangover from their UEFA Champions League victory over Lyon in midweek.
Darren Dods scored a late winner on 78 minutes to give Dundee United victory in a tight game against Motherwell. Dods headed home Barry Robson's corner to continue United's impressive home record with their fifth clean sheet in succession.
Hearts beat Falkirk in a six-goal thriller at Tynecastle. The home team raced into a 4-0 lead thanks to goals by Andrius Ksanavicius (5), Marius Zaliukas (27), Andrius Velicka (58) and Christian Nade (68). But Falkirk claimed two late consolations through sub Graham Barratt (87) and Pedro Moutinho (89).
Kilmarnock and Inverness Caledonian Thistle shared the spoils at Rugby Park.
The home team took the lead in the first minute through Aime Koudou, but a Simon Ford own goal on 22 minutes levelled the scores. Colin Nish put Kilmarnock back in front on 56 minutes, but Don Cowie scored the equaliser five minutes later.
