Rochdale have eased their defensive headache by bringing in Marcus Holness from North West neighbours Oldham.
Dale boss Keith Hill has seen his options in defence decimated in recent weeks but has now moved to rectify the problem.
Holness will join fellow Oldham defender Kelvin Lomax on-loan at Spotland, becoming the latest starlet to make the short trip from Boundary Park.
The 18-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for John Sheridan's side but has accrued experience during a loan switch to Ossett Town.
Holness goes straight into Rochdale's squad for Tuesday night's game at Darlington.
