Huddersfield Town boss Andy Ritchie has blasted the international schedule, following his side's 2-0 defeat to Crewe.
Ritchie was left fuming when Republic of Ireland Under 21 duo Michael Collins and Richard Keogh missed the encounter after their return flight was cancelled.
The Huddersfield manager vented his frustration at the decision to play the international on a Friday, and explained that sides from Scotland, Ireland and Wales cannot cope with the absentees.
"When they rang me this morning I thought it was April Fool's Day," Ritchie said.
"It is ridiculous that there are international games being played on a Friday.
"It is all right for teams like England whose players are coming from Premiership teams that can cope with losing players.
"But Ireland, Scotland and Wales are taking a lot of players from Championship and League One clubs that can't cope with losing players."
