Bournemouth boss Paul Groves also felt his side's defending left a lot to be desired in the 5-3 defeat at Sheffield United.
Ryan Flynn scored twice for the Blades with John Cofie, Richard Cresswell and Nick Blackman (penalty) also on target. Tommy Elphick, Lee Barnard and Marc Pugh were on the scoresheet for the Cherries.
"You can't come to Sheffield United and gift them three goals, which is what we've done," said Groves. "We nearly got back in the game but we again gifted them a goal.
"You wouldn't have seen that coming, in respect of what's gone before. It's not as if we've been conceding lots of goals or looked like conceding lots of goals.
"We got ourselves in front and then they made the game more physical. It was more direct and we had no answer to that, which is disappointing. I think that's a very different game to what we've experienced before.
"We're trying to do things quickly but everything will take time. We're in a business where we need to get results but you're going to get ups and downs, there's no doubt about it. We have to move on and put things right and that's something we need to address on Tuesday."
