John Ward hopes Colchester bounce back quickly after their 3-0 Capital One Cup defeat at the hands of fellow League One side Yeovil.
Richard Hinds scored twice in the first half to set the hosts on their way to victory and Ward admitted he was far from pleased with the manner in which his side lost the game.
Ward said: "Both were poor goals to concede from set plays. We didn't defend that very well at all.
"The way we've played is a huge disappointment. We didn't play our game and didn't move the ball quickly enough. We tried to score the perfect goal.
"There's got to be a positive reaction, if we go and be a bit lethargic at Preston on Saturday they will punish us. We've got to respond very positively."
