Northampton have moved quickly to bring Luke Guttridge back to Sixfields following the midfielder's departure from Aldershot.

The 29-year-old left the Recreation Ground by mutual consent on Thursday having made 80 appearances for the Hampshire club, scoring 13 goals. Guttridge started his career at Torquay and also played for Cambridge, Southend, Leyton Orient and Colchester before joining the Cobblers in 2008, spending two years with them before moving to Aldershot. Guttridge, who has penned an 18-month deal, will be in Aidy Boothroyd's squad for Saturday's trip to Torquay.
