Richards fires Gills warning

Gillingham's Garry Richards says the team won't progress if they repeat the mistakes of their 4-3 home defeat to AFC Wimbledon.

The Gills dropped down to eighth in the League Two standings following Saturday's reverse, which came after they had twice opened up a two-goal advantage and led 3-1 with 17 minutes remaining. The result left the Kent outfit 11 points adrift of the top three, yet Richards told the club's official website: "We've made it hard for ourselves now but it's not impossible - we never give up hope and I certainly don't. "We've got ourselves in this situation so between now and the end of the season we'll pull together and hopefully a few sides will have a wobble near the business end, which is just around the corner. "When there's 15 games to go it becomes realistic for the clubs who are there, but you have to put pressure on those sides. "But we can't play like we did on Saturday. If we played like that, it would be a no-go."
