Smith enjoying Football League

Midfielder Jonathan Smith has claimed there is a massive gulf between the Football League and the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Smith crossed the divide when he joined Swindon from York in the summer, and has been a key part of manager Paolo Di Canio's plans at the County Ground this term. But the tough-tackling 24-year-old said League Two boasts much higher levels of quality than non-league's top division. "The difference between the Blue Square Bet Premier and the Football League is quite big," he told STFC Player. "You are playing in much better stadiums and there are no games that are 'easy wins' in this division. "I am desperate to prove myself at this level and I have really enjoyed the games I have been involved in so far."
