Walsall's Dave Martin believes his new teammates can make an impression on League One despite defeat to Oldham on his debut.
Martin signed for the Saddlers on loan from Derby on Tuesday and was immediately thrown in at the deep end against the Latics. And after surveying the quality of the squad at the Banks's Stadium, he is confident Walsall will make progress up the league ladder. "The team can definitely be there or thereabouts," he told the club's official website. "I played at this level last season, so I know what is required. "There are some strong teams and there is not much difference between those clubs at the top and bottom, everyone is capable of taking points off each other."
