Hungarian to join on two-year deal

Hungarian defender Janos Kovacs is to join Lincoln after turning down the offer of a new contract at Chesterfield. Kovacs had been at Chesterfield since 2005 and last season he made 43 appearances for the club. However, he decided to move on and has now agreed terms on a two-year contract at Sincil Bank. He will officially join Lincoln at the start of next month to become Peter Jackson's second summer signing after Stefan Oakes. Chesterfield are entitled to a compensation fee for the 22-year-old, which will be settled by a Football League tribunal if the two clubs cannot reach an agreement.
