Pesch admits Blackwell talks

Paul Peschisolido has met Luton boss Kevin Blackwell as he weighs up his next club.

Paul Peschisolido has met Luton Town manager Kevin Blackwell as he weighs up his next club.

The veteran striker was released by Derby County after the club secured Premier League football with victory over West Bromwich Albion in the play-off final.

The Canadian has been linked with a move to Luton, and though he confirmed talking to Blackwell, he did not elaborate on any offer from the League One club.

"Two or three clubs have been interested in me, but I've only just come back from holiday. I've been completely shut off from football," Peschisolido told the Derby Evening Telegraph.

"I know Kevin Blackwell really well from my time at Sheffield United and I went down there to see him just for a talk.

"People see you down there and that's how rumours start to spread.

"I've had some interest, but whether I'm playing in League One or the Championship next season I'm not sure at the moment.

"I'm not in any rush. Football has been the last thing on my mind for a while. I want to take my time and make sure I make the right decision."

The 36-year-old concedes he was upset not to be given the opportunity to play for the Rams in the top flight next season.

He added: "I was very disappointed not to get a chance to play in the Premier League.

"But there have been so many plusses in my career, I'm not going to start sulking about it. It would be pointless focusing on the negatives."
