Luton boss Kevin Blackwell has made his first signing at Kenilworth Road in bringing in David Edwards from Shrewsbury Town.

Edwards impressed last season in helping Shrewsbury to the play-offs and will now make the step up to League One with Luton.

The 21-year-old midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal after productive talks with Luton's officials over personal terms.

Edwards, a Wales Under 21 international, was recently named in the senior squads to face Republic of Ireland and San Marino and it is expected he will win his first full cap before too long.

Meanwhile, speculation in Tuesday's press has claimed Queens Park Rangers striker Paul Furlong has been offered a one-year deal at Luton, following his release from Loftus Road.
