Luton Town defender Kevin Foley is to undergo an ankle operation next week.
Foley has been plagued by a recurring ankle problem and Hatters boss Kevin Blackwell believes he should have surgery now to give him a chance of being fit in time for next season.
The Republic of Ireland youth international has made over 40 appearances this term and will be a key figure next season when Luton will attempt to gain promotion back to the Championship.
He could play in Luton's match with Southend on Saturday, but will go under the knife before next weekend's final game of the season against Sunderland.
"Kevin Foley will have an operation next week because the work that needs to be done on his ankle will leave him out for three months," Blackwell told the club's official website.
