Timlin could make second leg

Southend midfielder Michael Timlin suffered 'a banging headache' after his clash of heads on Sunday.

Timlin and Stevenage captain Bira Dembele crashed into each other as they challenged for the ball in the 1-1 play-off semi-final draw and Timlin left the field covered in blood and needed 15 stitches in a gaping wound above his eye.

But on Monday afternoon the 30-year-old revealed he may even make the second leg.

"I've got a bit of a banging headache but apart from that I don't feel too bad," he told the club's official website.

"My eyes are slightly closed up and we'll have a look on Thursday. We'll see how my sight gets on and what the cut is like."
