Eastwood considering future

Freddy Eastwood is considering quitting football having been released by Southend.

The 30-year-old former Wales international will ponder his future in the game after the Shrimpers decided against offering him a new deal. "I'm in no great rush to sign for anyone and I will take the next four to six weeks to think about what I do next and if I want to keep on playing," Eastwood, who has spent two spells at Roots Hall, told the Echo. "I think fitness-wise I'm fine to carry on playing so it's going to come down to whether or not I want to. "I'm not really interested in going to play for a club miles away because I don't think I would enjoy that if I'm honest. "I will wait and see if I get any offers and what comes up but it's a big decision and one I'm not going to rush in to making."
