Swindon Town midfielder Michael Timlin has praised the impact new boss Paolo Di Canio has had at the club.

The Italian's appointment at the County Ground in May surprised many but Timlin, 26, says his arrival has given the whole club a boost following last season's relegation to League Two. "There is a real buzz around the squad at the moment and you get that when you play under someone of the calibre of Paolo Di Canio," Timlin told the club's official website. "When he tells you to do something, you never question it because you know he has done it all before. "There's no excuse for anyone to think 'What do you know? You've never done this yourself' because he was one of the best players in the Premiership for years and it's great to play under someone like that. "The boys can already see the way he wants to play and his philosophy on football and everyone is fully behind it so we just can't wait for the season to start now."
