Defender keen to impress his former Rotherham boss Knill

Former Rotherham United defender Stephen Brogan is keen to impress after joining Scunthorpe United on trial. The 23-year-old was released by his hometown club at the end of last season after a frustrating spell on the sidelines due to a serious leg injury. However, having been reunited with former Millers boss Alan Knill at Glanford Park, the full-back says that he would jump at the chance to sign for the Iron permanently. "It is going well for me at the moment and obviously I knew the gaffer from our time together at Rotherham, so it is just good to be back at a club and being involved in things again," Brogan told skysports.com.

Good memories

"I played for Alan at Rotherham and we did pretty well during that time, so he probably has good memories of me, which is always a good start. "Hopefully, I'll continue to do well this week and something good will come at the end of it for me. "I gave a few managers a call, including Alan Knill, and he told me to come in for pre-season training and he'd see how I got on. "I've not really been told about a certain timeframe on things, but there is another friendly on Tuesday, so hopefully I'll be involved and we can take things from there. "It is the same at every club, with trialists coming in and out for pre-season training, but all I can do is my best and hope that everything works out for me."
