Kane Ferdinand is concentrating on performing well for Southend amid increasing speculation about his future.
The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed for the Shrimpers this season, scoring twice in 18 appearances, and has been watched by representatives from Ipswich and Nottingham Forest in recent weeks.
Ferdinand, who came through the youth set-up at Roots Hall, says that rumours will not affect him.
He told the Southend Echo: "I don't let any of that get to me and, to be honest, I didn't even know anything about it until I read it in the paper.
"A lot of the stuff that's been printed isn't even true and I certainly won't be affected by it.
"I will just concentrate on doing well for Southend and helping us win the matches we have left this season."
