Stockport have swooped to sign Southend striker Matt Paterson on a one-month loan deal.
Paterson, 21, had made just one appearance for the Shrimpers since October and Southend manager Paul Sturrock believes he will benefit from the move to Edgeley Park.
"Matt has been here under two managers now and things haven't really worked out for him," said Sturrock.
"I thought it was for the best he moved on and got himself back on the map.
"If he does well then he could stay at Stockport or he could maybe excite some other managers."
