Southend skipper Craig Easton wants his side to start a charge up the League Two table, before it is too late.
The Blues are currently just a point above the relegation zone in 20th place after winning just one of their last 11 matches.
"We are where we are in the league table," Easton told the Echo. "There's no getting away from that but it could all change very quickly.
"We know we haven't won enough games and are down towards the bottom but we can't afford to get downbeat. We have to remain positive and we all believe that we are capable of bouncing back and getting back up the league.
"But we need results and we need them quickly."
