Former Aldershot winger Louie Soares has signed with Southend on a pre-contract agreement.
Shrimpers' pre-season preparations have seen 25-year-old Soares feature on the right wing.
And his registration with the Football League will be lodged once Southend's transfer embargo has been lifted.
Soares has penned a one-year deal at Roots Hall, becoming Paul Sturrock's 10th signing as manager.
