Gillingham have completed the signing of James Walker after the striker agreed to part company with Southend by mutual consent.
The 22-year-old struggled to nail down a regular spot in Steve Tilson's side and has subsequently joined the Gills on an initial three-month deal in a bid to gain more regular first-team football.
The forward scored eight goals in 53 appearances for Southend.
