Crewe are to put former captain Billy Jones up for sale as he wants to leave the club.
The Railwaymen are set to cash in on the 26-year-old defender as he wants to leave at the end of the season.
League One outfit Southend have already made an approach for the left-back, who hasn't featured since his red card against Bury on 29th September, which was former boss Gudjon Thordarson's last game in charge.
Interim boss Dario Gradi told The Sentinel: "We would sell Billy as he says he wants to go at the end of the season anyway.
"We'll circularise his details now he is fit."
