Dailly and Jaidi could link up with Parkinson's squad

Charlton Athletic boss Phil Parkinson has confirmed his interest in veteran defensive duo Christian Dailly and Radhi Jaidi. Dailly is available on a free transfer after leaving Rangers, while Jaidi is on the look-out for a new club after being released by Birmingham City. Parkinson took a look at Dailly in the pre-season friendly against Ipswich Town earlier this week and admits he is keen to sign the 35-year-old. "Christian did well," said Parkinson to South London Today. "He only trained with us on Monday and he hasn't played any pre-season games at all. "He's got fantastic fitness levels for someone of his age and he's an experienced player. "We're in a bit of a tricky situation at the club. It's been a funny old summer, but I'll be doing my best [to sign him]." Parkinson also confirmed he has spoken to Jaidi's agent and is now waiting for developments regarding his interest in the Tunisian stopper. He added: "Defensively we need three centre-backs and a utility-type player. Any centre-half who's available we'll be speaking to, but we've got to be in a position to get those deals over the finishing line. "I've spoken to Radhi's agent, but it hasn't gone any further than that."
