Pedro Mendes says he is loving life at Rangers - and would happily sign a longer-term contract with the club.

Portuguese midfielder would happily extend his stay at double-winners

Pedro Mendes says he is loving life at Rangers - and would happily sign a longer-term contract with the club. The midfielder's comments come as the Portuguese ace has been linked with a move away from the double-winners, whom he joined from Portsmouth in a £3million switch in August 2008. Sporting Lisbon are said to be keen on the 30-year-old, while Italian giants Lazio are also reported to have expressed an interest. But Mendes, who still has two years left on his current deal at Ibrox, says he would love to continue his stay in Glasgow. He told the Daily Record: "I have enjoyed everything about the club. I love the club, the city and the family have settled well so I am enjoying myself in Glasgow. "If the club comes to me and asks me to sign a long-term contract, I would talk with them and be willing to stay for a long time yet."

Dailly praise

Meanwhile, Christian Dailly has also sung the praises of the club after his 16-month spell at Ibrox came to an end this week when his contract expired. The former Scotland defender, 35, said he greatly appreciated the winning mentality at the club. "It was a great thing for me to come to Rangers. I had always wanted to try something like it," he told the Scottish Sun. "I had always been at clubs who weren't expected to win every week. But I have always been a player who does expect to win every week. "I could never understand the underlying mentality at some clubs that you might not win. "I felt that we should be looking to win every single game. "The great thing about being at Rangers was it felt so natural for me to play and expect to win. It was a brilliant experience and an amazing place to play football."
