Nottingham Forest defender Julian Bennett is set to be sidelined for several weeks after breaking his collarbone on Tuesday.
The full-back sustained the injury during the Reds' 1-1 draw with Ipswich at the City Ground.
The club's reigning Player of the Year collided with debutant keeper Lee Camp during the closing stages of the first half.
"Julian has a suspected broken collarbone, which is obviously a blow," manager Colin Calderwood told the club's official website.
"Most fractures take six weeks to heal but I don't know whether it will be longer because of the area it's in."
In the wake of the disappointing news, Forest are keen to step up their efforts to extend Joel Lynch's loan deal from Brighton.
The defender is set to return to the Seagulls following Forest's Championship clash with Crystal Palace next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Reds have also received bad news in regards to French midfielder Guy Moussi.
The 23-year-old underwent ankle ligament surgery on Monday and could be out of action for up to three months.
"It's the wrong end of the scenario for Guy coming out of the operation and we think he will be out for a long period of time," confirmed Calderwood.
