Southend strikers Matt Harrold, Richie Foran and Charlie MacDonald have been placed on the transfer list.

Harrold moved to Roots Hall from Yeovil in September 2006 but he managed just six goals in 59 appearances and fell down the pecking order towards the end of last season.

Foran, a £150,000 capture from Motherwell the following January, found the net just twice in 23 games and was loaned out to Darlington last year.

MacDonald only scored once in the league after signing from Ebbsfleet 12 months ago and manager Steve Tilson has now told the three players they are free to look for new clubs.

"I met with all three of the lads and they've found it hard to get into the team during their time with us," Tilson explained.

"I explained it would be hard for them next season and we all agreed it would be best if they went to play their football elsewhere."

Tilson has been linked with a move for Coventry forward Kevin Kyle.
