City midfielder reunited with Jackett

Millwall have completed the signing of midfielder Marc Laird from Manchester City. Laird has signed a contract until 2010 with Millwall, having recently been on loan at League One rivals Port Vale. He rejected a permanent deal at Vale Park in favour of a move to Millwall, where he will work with Kenny Jackett again. The Lions manager was previously reserve-team boss at City and Laird admits that was a factor in his decision. "Millwall are a big club, and having worked with Kenny Jackett at Manchester City, I know they will become successful with him as manager and I want to be part of that," Laird told the club's official website. Laird, who turns 22 later this month, could make his Millwall debut against Vale this weekend, if he recovers from a minor ankle knock.
