Southend have completed the loan signing of Luton forward Dean Morgan until the new year with a view to making a permanent switch.
The 24-year-old can play both up front and on the wing but has struggled to displace Darren Currie at Kenilworth Road and will be at Roots Hall until January 5.
Southend coach Dean Austin told the club's official website: "We've seen Dean play a few times and we like what we have seen.
"He's more of a creator than a scorer but he is quick and can play on the wing.
"It's with a view to a permanent move and we will assess him over the next week."
