Swansea City will be without midfielder Darren Way and defender Tom Williams for up to six weeks.

Both players had surgery on long-standing injury problems, with former Yeovil Town man Way being treated for a troublesome shin.

Williams also went under the knife to cure a hernia problem, and both players will miss the next four to six weeks of action, as they recover from their operations.

With the January transfer window nearing, the League One club have been linked with a move for Southend United midfielder Luke Guttridge.

The former Cambridge United player is thought to be unhappy at not being in Steve Tilson's starting XI, though The Shrimpers denied recently that they had received a transfer request from the 24-year-old.

League One rivals Leyton Orient are also thought to be interested in Guttridge, and it remains to be seen if Swans boss Kenny Jackett makes a move for the midfielder.

Swansea's search for new faces has seen the club hand a trial to French defender Sylvain Meslien.

Meslien comes to The Liberty Stadium after spells in France with St Etienne and Troyes.
