Southend United goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan has signed a new deal with the club.
The 27-year-old was a free agent and was believed to have had talks with League Two sides Grimsby Town, Northampton Town, Bristol Rovers and Rushden & Diamonds.
However, Flahavan has decided to commit to the promoted Shrimpers by putting pen to paper on a new two-year contract.
"The personal terms of the contract have now been sorted," said Flahavan.
"I had offers to go elsewhere but staying with Southend was always my number one option because I really enjoy it here."
The news will be a real boost to manager Steve Tilson, who has had trouble persuading some of his squad to sign new deals.
Che Wilson, Nicky Nicolau and Lawrie Dudfield have all shunned new deals so far this summer.
