Freddy Eastwood has pledged his future to Southend United.Southend United's topscorer Freddy Eastwood has pledged his future to the club after helping his side gain promotion to League One.
The former Grays Athletic striker scored in Southend's 2-0 win over Lincoln City on Saturday and his goals this season have seen him linked with a move away from Roots Hall.
Eastwood insists that he is happy at Southend and he would have stayed with the club even if Steve Tilson's men had not gained promotion.
"I definitely expect to be here at the start of next season," said Eastwood.
"I signed for Southend because it's local for me and I didn't want to move away from home.
"Getting promotion has obviously helped but even if we hadn't gone up I'd have still been playing for Southend United next season.
"I'm enjoying my football and I've no intention of leaving."
