League Two Round-up

Scunthorpe United stay top of League Two after a 2-0 victory over Grimsby Town.

Scunthorpe United remain on top of League Two following a 2-0 victory over local rivals Grimsby Town.

The Iron went ahead early on through Paul Hayes (16) and then Grimsby were reduced to ten men on the stroke of half time after Jon Daly was dismissed.

Hayes sealed the win 20 minutes from time with his second.

Leyton Orient dropped down to fourth after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Chester City.

Lee Steele (pictured) put The O's ahead just before the break, but Cortez Belle grabbed his first goal for Chester with seven minutes left to seal a share of the spoils.

Swansea City moved into second after they grabbed a 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers. The enigmatic Lee Trundle sealed victory with a late penalty.

Yeovil Town are up to fourth after their 1-0 win at Wycombe Wanderers, with substitute Barosz Tarachulski scoring the winner just five minutes from the end.

Southend United are in fifth following their comfortable 4-0 win over Oxford United at Roots Hall.

Mark Gower (47), Fredy Eastwood (75), Adam Barrett (81) and Lawrie Dudfield (90 pen) grabbed the goals for The Shrimpers, while Oxford also had Jon Ashton sent off late on.

Macclesfield Town consolidated their place in the top six with a 1-0 win at Mansfield Town.

Mike Sheron grabbed the only goal of the game after 41 minutes.

Boston United climbed into the play-off spots after a 4-0 thrashing of bottom-of-the-table Kidderminster Harriers.

All four goals came in the second half as Lee Beevers (50) and then a Andy Kirk hat-trick (56, 81 pen, 90) gave The Pilgrims victory at Aggborough.

Darlington are up to ninth after they sealed a 2-1 win at Rushden & Diamonds.

Craig Hignett's brace (21 & 82) did the damage for The Quakers while on-loan Gary Mulligan's consolation was not enough for the home side.

Lincoln city came from two goals down to win 3-2 against Northampton Town at Sincil Bank.

Eric Sabin (6) and Scott McGleish (38) put The Cobblers ahead, but a Simon Yeo (54 & 57) brace levelled matters before Marcus Richardson popped up in the last minute to win it for the home side.

Cheltenham Town are in the top half of the table after a 1-0 win over Bury. Grant McCann 68th minute penalty separated the sides at Whaddon Road.

Managerless Notts County recorded what could prove to be a vital victory, as they defeated Shrewsbury Town 3-0 at Meadow Lane.

Paul Bolland (39), Glynn Hurst (70) and Chris Palmer (90) scored the goals for The Magpies.

Cambridge United remain second from bottom after a 2-1 defeat at Rochdale.

Grant Holt's brace (31 & 83) sandwiched an effort from Amadou Konte to give his side victory.
