Southend boss Steve Tilson is confident of completing the permanent signing of striker Fredy Eastwood.
The 21-year-old has made a huge impact at Roots Hall after joining the club on a month-long loan from non-league Grays Athletic.
Eastwood grabbed two more goals in The Shrimpers 4-1 LDV Vans Trophy win over Shrewsbury on Tuesday to take his tally to six during his time with the Essex-based club.
His form has convinced Tilson to wrap up his transfer, and a deal is close to completion.
"Both clubs have settled on a fee and it only remains for us to agree personal terms with the player," said Tilson. "I am very confident that we will be able to do that.
"Fredy has proved himself a natural goalscorer in his short time with us and I am convinced he has a fine future ahead of him."
