Torquay United moved into the play-off places after edging out Scunthorpe by the only goal at Plainmoor, while Swansea beat Leyton Orient.

Matt Hockley was the hero for Torquay as he bagged the decisive goal just 13 minutes in.

Swansea re-ignited their own play-off hopes with a 2-1 home success, but left it late against Brian Laws' men.

Lee Trundle (pictured) moved The Swans ahead on 12 minutes but Wayne Purser silenced the Vetch Field shortly after the half-hour mark.

That goal looked like being enough to earn the East Londoners a point, but nine minutes before the final whistle Alan Tate notched his first goal for the club to claim the spoils.

Southend were moments away from recording a vital away victory, but were denied by a last-gasp Gareth Seddon goal at Bury.

Leon Constantine continued his recent good form by opening the scoring on 27 minutes, but with virtually the last kick Seddon grabbed an equaliser to atone for missing a first-half penalty.

Match summaries:
Bury 1-1 Southend
Swansea 2-1 Leyton Orient
