Leeds striker Chris Wood expressed dismay at the sacking of manager Nigel Pearson from former club Leicester

Leeds United have signed striker Chris Wood from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old New Zealand international has signed a four-year deal with the Elland Road side and becomes Uwe Rosler's fourth signing after Charlie Horton, Lee Erwin and Sol Bamba.

Wood, who joined the Foxes from West Brom, has scored 20 goals in 62 appearances since signing in 2013.

"I think he’s another important piece in the jigsaw,” Rosler told leedsunited.com . “We were looking for a number nine type - like Chris Wood is.

"He’s physical, strong and experienced in this league. He has potential to develop and has his best years in front of him.
