Leeds rounded off their pre-season schedule with an encouraging 2-0 victory over Dundee United at Elland Road.

Steve Morison and substitute Dominic Poleon were on the scoresheet for Dave Hockaday's side, who open their Sky Bet Championship campaign at Millwall next weekend.

Good play down the right by Michael Tonge saw him send over an inviting low cross which was tucked away by Morison from close range to give Leeds an early advantage.

Rudy Austin, Tonge and Tommaso Bianchi all went close to extending the lead, with the latter seeing a stinging shot crash against the woodwork.

An error late on by former Dundee United player Noel Hunt almost led to an equalising goal for the Scottish Premiership side but Ryan Dow's effort was turned away by Marco Silvestri, his sole meaningful save of the afternoon.

Leeds made sure of the win with four minutes remaining when Poleon latched on to a loose ball and rounded the goalkeeper before tucking the ball into the empty net.
