Teenage midfielder Chris Dawson has been handed a professional contract at Leeds to keep him at Elland Road until summer 2015.

The 18-year-old has made an impressive start to the season and has appeared for the club's Under 21s side in recent weeks.

Dawson came through the Whites' academy ranks having been with the club since he was nine years old.

The midfielder, who turned 18 at the beginning of September, made 13 appearances for the club's Under-18s side last season, scoring twice.

Leeds development coach Neil Redfearn told the club's official website: "I think we will see a lot more of Chris Dawson. He has great feet and is a football athlete, which is what we're looking at in the academy."
