Neil Redfearn is not getting carried away with Leeds' 3-0 win over Bristol City, stating he is happy carrying on as long as required.
The club's youth coach has taken caretaker charge following Simon Grayson's exit and he has not ruling himself out of the running.
Redfearn aided his cause on Saturday after the club claimed all three points against the nine-man Robins at Ashton Gate.
Robert Snodgrass opened the scoring before James Wilson was sent off with Yannick Bolasie then seeing red for collecting a second yellow.
Ross McCormack made sure of the points in the 79th minute before Luciano Becchio added the icing in the cake late on.
Capable
"I feel I am capable of doing the manager's job and have the necessary experience in the game," said Redfearn.
"But the decision will be made from above and I am not stupid. I realise some big names are being linked with the vacancy.
"I will just keep doing the job the board have asked of me and if I am teeing things up for someone else to take charge then so be it.
"For now I am just delighted to have helped the players get a great result and rebuild some confidence."

Wilson was sent off for a professional foul on McCormack, although Derek McInnes felt Bolasie's dismissal was harsh.
The City boss said "I thought the referee got one sending-off right and the other wrong. Wilson didn't get a touch on the ball so he had to go, but the red card for Bolasie was very harsh.
"The Leeds player made the most of the challenge for his first booking and there was no intent to bring his opponent down when the second yellow card was issued.
"The decisions affected the game, but we can't blame the result on them. We were naive in certain situations and need to learn the lessons from that.
"I was short of defenders through injury even before Wilson's sending-off so I will be trying to bring someone in on loan as soon as possible."
