Portsmouth goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown says he would like to stay at the club, but faces a big decision over his future at the end of the season.
Ashdown has made just 51 first-team appearances for Pompey since his arrival from Reading in 2004 and he is out of contract in the summer.
His start in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Blackburn Rovers was just his sixth outing this season and he expects to lose his place to David James for the weekend's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur.
The 29-year-old admits it is not ideal to be used so sparingly and he is determined to play more regular first-team football next season.
With Pompey destined for the Championship after going into administration, Ashdown acknowledged James' future at Fratton Park could impact on his own.
Big decision
"Coming in and playing one game here and one game there is no good to anyone," said Ashdown.
"It's all right for a striker, but for a goalkeeper it's not ideal. You need to be playing consistently to improve and that's what I'm going to be doing next season.
"I've had enough of playing a bit part. Whether it is here depends on whether David James stays or the club goes down - many things really.
"I'm 29 now and out of contract in the summer. The club have got to get a buyer and then we'll sit down and talk. I'd like to stay.
"I love the place, of course I'd love to, but it's going to be a big decision in the summer because I definitely want to be playing."
Regarding his prospects of facing Spurs at Wembley, the keeper said: "It's David James isn't it? A very experienced player.
"I don't know how bad his calf is, but it was bad enough to keep him out today."
