Leeds United have been boosted by the news that keeper David Lucas did not break a finger in Saturday's pre-match warm-up.
The former Preston man was a late withdrawal from Leeds' starting line-up against Peterborough, a game The Whites went on to lose 2-0.
It was thought the experienced shot-stopper had actually broken a finger, however, scans have revealed the blow is not as bad as initially feared.
"Dave has had an X-ray and it's not as bad as we first thought now," manager Gary McAllister told the club's official website. "He'll be able to train with a splint on."
Casper Ankergren is likely to keep his place in goal when Leeds take on Rotherham in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Wednesday, a game that can be seen live on Sky Sports 2.
