Enoch Showunmi is looking forward to the challenge of trying to help Leeds restore their former glory.
The 26-year-old moved to Elland Road from Bristol City on Monday, six months after turning Leeds down in favour of a loan switch to Sheffield Wednesday.
He admits he was not ready to join Leeds at that time but now feels he can play a key role for the Yorkshire side.
"A lot of things were said (in January) that hadn't actually happened and things happened behind my back at Bristol," said Showunmi.
"It wasn't a move I was ready to make at the time, but now the lure of Leeds has brought me here."
Showunmi is excited to be arriving at a club which was one of the best in England just a few years ago, and feels Leeds can return to the Premier League.
He added: "You only have to look at the fanbase, the players of the past, and it's only seven years since the club was in the Champions League.
"It's a Premier League club and it's a massive challenge. I had a walk around on Tuesday and it's a great setup. It's a massive club and I'm looking forward to the challenge."
