Leeds United have allowed Ian Westlake to extend his loan spell at Brighton until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old's one-month spell on the coast was to expire after Saturday's game against Port Vale but he will now prolong his stay.
Seagulls boss Dean Wilkins is delighted to retain the services of a player he feels gives his squad balance down the left side.
"I'm delighted we have been able to agree to extend the deal," said Wilkins.
"Ian has shown he brings balance to the side, for the obvious reason of being left-footed, but he also brings an enthusiasm and a personality which fills in well with the club."
Westlake would be available to figure for Brighton should they make the play-offs.
